Soybeans can also look beautiful in Bloemfontein!

Soybeans in Bloemfontein? Soybeans are, next to maize, the largest summer crop or cash crop in South Africa. Hendrik Linde, Pannar's agriculturist in the Western Free State, boasts and says: "Soybeans can also look beautiful in Bloemfontein". Photographed here are Hendrik's wife Inalene and their baby daughter also named Inalene. To the left in the photo is PAN 1555R and on the right where Inalene is standing, is PAN 1521R. The soybeans were planted in 1.5m rows on 18 October for a plant population of 250 000 plants per hectare.

PAN 1521R (MG 5.7) and PAN 1555R (MG 5.7) are two excellent cultivars that have very good yield potential and stability over different yield potentials, production areas and seasons. Keep in mind that soybean cultivars in the 5 and 6 growth classes (MG) produce the most stable yield over the long term and the largest part of a soybean cultivar package can be compiled from these growth classes.
