PAN 5285: These hybrids in this platform are stalwarts in North West.

This beautiful planting of PAN 5285 is located at Muiskraal Boerdery in North West. It was planted for 40,000 plants per hectare under dryland. Pieter Geldenhuys, Pannar's representative, says: "PAN 5285 is part of this loyal customer's main planting".

The PAN 5285 platform, which includes PAN 5685R, PAN 5R-785BR and the exciting new PAN 5P-985PW hybrid with PowerCore™ technology, maintains consistently good performance in the Agricultural Research Council's (ARC) national trials for the western production area. It is characterised by stable performance over seasons and wide area adaptability. It has a good yield potential, especially on soils with a clay content of >10% in the topsoil. These hybrids have an attractive plant type with good agronomic balance and show good tolerance against Head and Feather Blight and Northern Leaf Blight.

PAN 5P-985PW, with the unique combination of Bt proteins contained in the PowerCore™ technology, offer improved Insect Resistant Management (IRM) against Maize Stalk Borer (Busseola fusca) and Spotted Maize Stem Borer (Chilo partellus), while the glyphosate tolerance provides a proven, convenient weed control benefit for farmers.
