Wheat Cultivar PAN 3497 is Simply Impressive

Another beautiful wheat planting of PAN 3497 – this cultivar impresses continuously. This planting of PAN 3497 was planted under irrigation by DM Allem in the Ventersdorp area. It was planted at 65 kg/ha.

Pannar recommends its spring type wheat cultivars at a reduced planting density of 60kg seed per hectare at early planting dates under irrigation to utilize the maximum potential of the cultivars. Through a reduced planting density and good management, the stooling potential of each cultivar can be used to achieve excellent yields and save costs. In combination with a good seedbed, 120 to 170 plants per square meter should develop, at a germination percentage of 90%. However, the seeding rate must be increased when planting later in the recommended planting window to 90kg of seed per hectare (210 plants per square meter) to compensate for the loss of tillers due to the shorter available growing season.
