Pokkenos Ottos, Pannar's representative in Sannieshof, shares this beautiful planting of PAN 7160CLP. It was planted at 38,000 plants per hectare. This great block of sunflowers belongs to the Stassen family from Biesiesvlei. PAN 7160CLP is Pannar's number one choice Clearfield® Plus hybrid – it has exceptionally good yield potential and yield stability at all yield levels. In short, Pannar recommends the following sunflower packages for the different production regions:
North Western Free State (topsoil <10% clay):
In the light sandy soils of the northwestern Free State and North-West, the high-potential hybrids PAN 7080 / PAN 7090 and PAN 7180CLP / PAN 7160CLP are recommended as the core of a package and are complemented by PAN 7100 and PAN 7102CLP.
North West and Limpopo (topsoil >10% clay):
For the western and Limpopo production areas, the conventional hybrid PAN 7090 and the Clearfield® Plus hybrid PAN 7160CLP are recommended as main hybrids in a package. PAN 7080 and PAN 7100 as conventional and PAN 7102CLP and PAN 7180CLP as Clearfield® Plus hybrids will complement the leader hybrids depending on the planned yield potential for each field.
Cooler Temperate Production Areas (eastern Highveld):
In the cooler temperate eastern production area, the two Clearfield® Plus hybrids, PAN 7160CLP and PAN 7102CLP, are recommended as the core of the package. If conventional hybrids are planted, PAN 7080 and PAN 7090 are the designated choice if planted in the optimum planting window.
