Knowledge Sharing for Improved Productivity and Better On-Farm Practices19 September 2017

PANNAR SEED Kenya invited 60 commercial farmers from the Uasin Gishu and Trans Nzoia counties to a knowledge exchange forum at Sergoit Farm in Uasin Gishu on Friday, 8 September.

The main goal was to create a platform where the farmers could exchange best practices amongst themselves. Some of the key topics addressed on the day were the PANNAR product range and incoming highland material under national trials; agronomy best practices (especially focussing on maize); planter calibration and plant populations issues. Furthermore, the issue of managing Fall Armyworm was discussed at length with farmers sharing the practices that are working best on their farms, some of which have been hit quite severely.

This session was preceded by a field visit of PAN 7M-81.
